How Much Does a Small Business Website Cost in North Carolina?
Most agencies make you book a call before they will say a number. Here are ours, what moves them, and what you actually pay across the first year.
The honest answer to "how much does a website cost" is that it depends on what the site has to do. That is also the least useful answer, so here are real numbers. These are the prices we publish at Mancini Business Solutions, a web design company based in Hampstead, NC, along with what changes them and what you pay after launch.
The short answer
- A custom website you own outright: $1,500 to $3,500 as a one-time build, plus hosting from $49.99 a month.
- A website plus lead capture and automation: a $1,500 setup, then $247 a month on a 12-month commitment or $297 month to month.
- The full system with an AI receptionist and automated follow-up: a $2,500 setup, then $697 or $797 a month.
- A professional site with nothing upfront: $197 a month, where we keep ownership of the site.
What changes the price of a custom build
A one-page site for a solo contractor and a twelve-page site with online booking and copywriting are not the same job. The things that move the number most are:
- How many pages you need. Every service and every area you want to rank for usually deserves its own page.
- Who writes the words. Having the copy written for you costs more than supplying it, and it is often the difference between a site that looks good and one that gets calls.
- What the site has to do. Online booking, galleries and integrations add work. A store, a customer login or a site over twelve pages is scoped on a call rather than priced from a range, because those vary too much to price honestly in advance.
Our website cost estimator asks five questions and shows the number as you answer. Whatever it shows is confirmed in writing before work starts.
The costs people forget
The build is only part of the bill. Before you compare quotes, ask about:
- Hosting and security. Every site needs to live somewhere with an SSL certificate. Ours is $49.99 a month, or $97 a month with monthly content edits included.
- Your domain. Make sure it is registered in your name, not your designer's.
- Legal pages. A Privacy Policy and Terms of Use are included on every one of our plans and kept updated while the plan is active.
- Changes after launch. Minor changes are included on our plans. Bigger changes, like a redesign or new features, are quoted before any work starts.
What the first year actually costs
| Option | First-year total |
|---|---|
| Website Launch at the entry scope, with $49.99 hosting | $2,099.88 |
| Website Launch at the entry scope, with $97 hosting | $2,664 |
| Website Plan ($197 a month, no setup) | $2,364 |
| Growth on the 12-month rate | $4,464 |
| Growth Pro on the 12-month rate | $10,864 |
A larger Website Launch scope adds to the one-time figure, never to a monthly one.
Buy the site, or pay monthly?
Buying outright makes sense if you want to own the site from day one and you do not need lead capture or automation yet. A monthly plan makes sense if you want the website to also answer missed calls, ask for reviews and follow up with leads, because that ongoing work is what the monthly fee pays for. On Growth and Growth Pro, the rights to your custom design and content transfer to you once the 6-month minimum is complete and paid.
The cheapest option up front is not always the cheapest option overall. Compare what each one costs across the first year and what you own at the end of it. Every plan is laid out side by side on our pricing page.
Quick answers.
With us, a custom site you own starts at $1,500 as a one-time build, plus hosting from $49.99 a month. If you would rather pay nothing upfront, the Website Plan is $197 a month, with the trade-off that we keep ownership of the site.
Usually because of how many pages are built, who writes the words, what the site has to do, and what is included after launch, like hosting, changes and lead capture. Compare what you get and what you own, not just the headline price.
Not in the one-time build. Hosting is a separate monthly charge from $49.99. On the Growth, Growth Pro and Website Plan monthly plans, hosting is included.
